The main characteristic of a complex system is that it consists of a large number of parameters in constant interaction with each other that cannot be studied independently. The diversity of the phenomena involved in such a system, like their potential variability, makes it difficult to predictability of its behavior and its evolution by classical analysis methods. The methodology used by Cervval since 2003, based on the multi-agent paradigm, allows to integrate all the components of the system and their interactions in a simulation tool reproducing faithfully and the structural or functional reality of the system is credible (examples: simulations of procedures, sizing aid).
By independently simulating each of the phenomena and behaviors of a system overall, Cervval's methods make it possible to parallelize the calculations and therefore minimize the time in order to obtain a real-time simulation. This is how we were able, for example, to simulate the operation of a refinery and millions of particles transported by gas in real time.
The technologies developed by CERVVAL make it possible to populate an environment virtual autonomous and intelligent entities, and reproduce their interactions in a realistic and credible way. The originality of this type of simulator is that it reproduces the unpredictable and varied nature of reality, taking into account possible behavioral errors when carrying out a procedure. The artificial intelligence developed by endowing individuals with perception / decision / action capacities even allows virtual entities to make up for their mistakes autonomously in order to achieve their goal.
